Emotions Never Call Ahead
Nov 20, 2025
Something happens.
Then your mind gets involved, and all hell breaks loose.
Here come the emotions — showing up like relatives at an unplanned family reunion. And really, when do those ever go smoothly? Someone’s always lost, someone’s always late.
But they come anyway. From all over, just to see you. To check out the shape you’re in after whatever just happened.
There’s Guilt, looking back at you in the mirror like it’s got all the answers.
Then Envy and Jealousy roll up together — they always carpool. They sit in the corner judging everyone, convinced they’re better than the rest.
You’ll know when Anger shows up — always makes a big entrance.
Laughter and Joy didn’t make it this year. Something about family and money, I think. Nobody’s sure how the fallout started.
And then there’s Pity and Mercy — the two aunts who know all the family secrets and exactly where the bodies are buried.
Nobody’s heard from Hope in years.
And I’m just standing in the kitchen, pretending I know how to host this mess, hoping they wear themselves out before I do.
